Sport
Sport as performed in the Everything Must Go festival 2018, was a binary piece consisting of two distinct worlds (Nuria Legarda and Finnoula Kennedy ́s) in coexistence, which generated a specific methodology and reinforced the individual process as the mechanism of the devising process along with an interaction between the two directors.
This final project Sport, employs performative elements within experimental and contemporary theatre, creating an interdisciplinary and multi-layered practice where dramaturgical form and content complement each other dialectically and praxically.
Nuria’s work is bold, authentic and distinctive. Her performance was a sublime articulation of her movement skills and her very individual sense of scenography. Choreography was highly accomplished. The kinetics of the stage, the lighting and above all the sonic landscape were realised to a high level. The effect was back of the brain and mesmerising, a weirdly David Lynch-like world of gynaecological dystopia, charismatically delivered.
