Elaborating upon Marina Garcés idea that, “The true contradiction of modern life does not take place, therefore, between the public and the private side of individual citizens but rather between their self-sufficiency and their dependency” this project explored the binary of self-sufficiency and dependence within relationships, specifically of a woman who has surrendered her sense of agency, a submission which leads to abandonment and agony. 

Pictures are generated from projections that are transposed onto an array of materials and textures, then photographed to form new double-layered images, reinforcing symbolic content and dramatic intention through fragmentation and overlap.
