Claim Your Place I+P builds bridges between stage creation, video art and exhibition formats. At a formal level, it analyses how the channel interferes in the reception of the message and, in conceptual terms, it puts forward a subjective approach to the imperative universal reflection on violence arising from the analysis of the tensions between oneself and the other.
War violence is the generating motor, the seminal concern about the state of the issue in human history. However, Claim Your Place I+P is conceived from a broad perspective that encompasses all types of violence based on a tumultuous common denominator: the aggression against the individual through the formal quest for beauty.
Claim Your Place I+P is formed by three pieces: Video installation, Performance and Photographic exhibition.

The process of creating the piece Claim Your Place I+P was the result of an immersion of almost two years in the works of writers such as Walter Benjamin, Erich Fromm, Herta Müller, C.G Jung, J. Campdell, S. Keen, L. Dossey, K. Wilber, R. Bluy and M-L Von Franz related to issues such as violence, Nazism, Second World War photography, Hitler’s psychology, testimonies of survivors of the Holocaust, and the power of the dark side of human nature.
Among them I’d like to point out Los Nazis y el Mal by Ana Rubio. By chance, I found out about the presentation of the book at the Documenta bookshop in Barcelona. I attended the event, and from the first moment I was seduced by the author's passion and commitment to the subject. I bought the book, devoured it and explored her blog. Once the piece was at an advanced stage, I had the opportunity to contact her, show her images and clarify some aspects and symbolism.
